Vi välkomnar arbetsplatsstrategen Tomas Götesson

Posted on: februari 24th, 2021 by Jennie Johansson No Comments

Health promoting workplaces – Tenant & Partner receives international award

Posted on: februari 4th, 2020 by Jennie Johansson No Comments

During 2019 Tenant & Partner has been certifying our Stockholm office according to Fitwel, a world leading health certification method for buildings. We are now happy to announce that we have been certified with the highest score in Sweden, which resulted in 2 out of 3 star rating and an international award. Fitwel is based on 3000 studies within health and wellbeing and focuses on solutions that promotes healthy choices and behaviours.

“Best in Building Health 2020”

We are extra proud that our workplace at Norr Mälarstrand 14 has been awarded “Best Building Health 2020” from the international independent organisation Center for Active Design!

“Tenant & Partner is demonstrating their leadership in the global healthy building movement as one of the early adopters of Fitwel in Sweden,” said Lisa Creighton, VP of Strategy and Development at the Center for Active Design. “Their outstanding 2 Star Fitwel certification of Norr Mälarstrand 14 in Stockholm reveals a strong commitment to supporting the health of their 70+ employees and sets a benchmark for advancing health-promoting projects among their client base.”

“It is an incredible honour that Tenant & Partner has been presented with this international award for our engagement in promoting health and wellbeing within the workplace. We hope that we can inspire others to look into making a change towards becoming a more health promoting workplace.” Says Evelien Wander-Plijter, workplace strategist at Tenant & Parter and Fitwel ambassador.

Fitwel helps us enable better terms and conditions for health and wellbeing

“Prior to the Fitwel certification, our office at Norr Mälarstrand 14 was an established health promoting workplace. For example we have a beautiful view over Mälaren and a location with great communication and infrastructure that promotes riding a bike or walking to work. Within the workplace we are offered many variations of workstations, a lounge that acts as our natural meeting point and a gym that is located in the centre of the office. The Fitwel certification has encouraged us to better our conditions for health and wellbeing even further. For example, we have implemented policies for food and security and encouraged our colleagues to make healthier choices through signs and information throughout the workplace.” Says Evelien Wander-Plijter.

During the procedure Tenant & Partner have learnt a lot surrounding what health at the workplace is. This is an area that is of great importance to us since we are always looking for opportunities to learn more about how we can create the best conditions for performing workplaces. Not only for ourselves but most importantly for our customers.

The importance of a health promoting workplace

We live in a world with considerable challenges when it comes to health in society as there are many lifestyle diseases and mental health issues. It can create advantages for companies and organisations that actively choose to promote health within the workplace. Coworkers with healthy well-being are more likely to cooperate, be more helpful, time-efficient and remain longer in an organisation. At Tenant & Partner we see the workplace as a strategic tool that creates conditions for our customers to reach their goals and visions.

Are you interested to find out more about how to create a health-promoting workplace and/or do you desire to find out if Fitwel could be a suitable method for your workplace? The Fitwel certification can be applied to both existing and new facilities and it works in different stages of a project, for example to compare different property alternatives, in the design phase and even after a move.

Trends in the field of Facility Management

Posted on: april 26th, 2019 by Jennie Johansson No Comments

Integrated experience management, climate change, artificial intelligence and digitalisation were some of the main topics discussed during an international conference that Tenant & Partner recently attended. In this blogpost, we will share our insights from the latest trends of Facility Management.

Integrated experience management

20 years ago, consultants in workplace design would wonder how many people could fit into a workspace. 10 years ago, they wondered what kind of tasks and activities could be performed in a workspace. Nowadays, the focus is on what type of experience people want to have in a workspace. (1) In a world lead by progressing technology, clients have access to an abundance of information for decision-making and creating an experience becomes a key factor and a competitive advantage in Facility Management.

In the workplace environment silos in organisations can often hinder the best possible experience for employees. For example, IT-, HR- and facility departments not working together in order to achieve common goals but instead have different interests and perspectives that are not aligned. During the conference a stand out theme in the area of integrated experience management was consistently highlighted as an interconnectedness between employee private life and work life. The challenge is to focus on sustainability and use front-end technology with a unique human feeling.

Integrated experience management aligns with Tenant & Partners vision, Performing Workplaces. We create workspaces that add value to the user, and we integrate solutions that are effective both for people and the planet.

Climate change

“All organisations need to prioritise climate change to improve the impact on environment” was the message presented by the younger generations on the topic of climate change within the workplace.

Tenant & Partner have implemented a strong focus on sustainability in our projects and the topic is a crucial factor when it comes to decision making. This presentation strengthened our commitment to climate impact.

Artificial intelligence and digitalisation leading to another skillset

Artificial intelligence (AI) can simply be explained as a computer that performs tasks where intelligence is required. For example: speech recognition, decision making and learning behavioural patterns. The conference presenters made clear the urgency for the consideration of AI and digitisation for workplaces, one presenter even stated: “Have a strategy for AI or you will die”.

As technology exponentially progresses in the workplace, there is an important focus required on the human factor and interaction becomes increasingly more important for organisations. Some of these skills include leadership, communication and creative thinking. At Tenant & Partner we continually discuss this topic with our clients and suppliers to understand how it may affect our work environment both in the short and long term.

Top 5 workplace trends

Posted on: februari 1st, 2019 by Jennie Johansson No Comments

As change and development has become a natural part of our everyday life, most organisations face associated challenges. The workplace plays a key role, both strategically and operationally, in staying competitive in today’s world. This blogpost summarises the top 5 workplace trends that are crucial in order to operate in a very complex and unpredictable world.

Work to learn – not learn to work

As tech becomes exponential, we need to foster exponential humanity. We need to start concentrating a lot harder on the things humans are good at and computers are not. According to the McKinsey Global Institute, a fifth of the world’s employees will be replaced by robots, AI, automation or similar in the near future. The World Economic Forum’s “Future of Jobs Report” (2018), estimates that not less than 54% of all employees need to be retrained and develop new competences by 2022.

We live in a more complex world and the only thing we know for certain, is that change is constant. We believe that organisations will focus more and more on development and relearning of skills for their employees. And in the recruitment process they will apply the mindset “seek for lifetime learners”.

New organisational structures

Organisations used to be designed for efficiency and were built around silos. As the world gets more and more connected, everyone is competing against each other, no matter industry and place. Today’s high performing organisations are replacing hierarchies with a network-based structure to support cooperation, engagement, innovation and adoptability. 94% of global organisations report that agile working methods and cooperation, are critical success factors to stay competitive (2).

We believe that the workplace needs to be designed to support new organisational structures by aligning both the physical and the digital and environment, as well as the cultural aspects. We need environments that allows us to act fast and work smarter.

More centralised and streamlined communication

Many workers are struggling with communication overload and increased stress during an average workday. Overflowing inboxes are a problem for many of us and we spend a large part of our day handling emails. The average worker spends as much as one day a week searching for internal information according to IDC. When we can’t find what we are looking for, we interrupt our colleagues, and usually we end up recreating information that already exists.

Many organisations are realising the importance of finding a single platform that unifies different systems, consolidates projects and relevant communication. A platform that ties activities to company goals and empowers employees to work effectively.

Greater emphasis on work life integration

With all the digital tools that enable employees to work from anywhere, an adequate work-life integration will continue to be a dominant focus for many workers. According to the Randstad Employer Brand Research Report, a good work-life balance is one of the most important considerations that job candidates make when evaluating an organisation. A recent study of FTSE100 and the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index demonstrated that organisations that focus on health, engagement and wellbeing, can get as much as 10 times more back in value from their employees.

We see a trend in that organisations are adopting a holistic view of their employees, and in order to stay competitive, companies will need to prove to employees that health and wellbeing is a shared value.

Experience based offices

The real estate business is no longer about real estate, or at least it soon won’t be. The answer lies in the twin trends of the move from products to services and ownership to access. Increasingly we are moving to an almost post-consumer world, instead we are more interested in being provided with services, experiences and surprises.

Space, as a service, is the future of real estate. It’s not enough to provide a space that people want to come to, it needs to be tailored for the people that will operate within it. Organisations need to think about what experiences they want to offer their employees, customers and partners. The space will also be a crucial aspect in defining your brand – and your brand is what defines your values.
